Welcome to Dream Journal, a private space to record and reflect on your dreams.
We respect your privacy and are fully committed to keeping your data secure.
This policy explains how our app handles your information.
Dream Journal works completely offline, except when opening the Privacy Policy page, which requires internet connection.
2. Information We Collect
Dream Journal does not collect, share, or upload any personal or sensitive user data.
The app stores the following information only on your device:
Dream title and description
Selected mood (Happy, Scary, Funny, Sad,Etc.)
Date and time of creation
Optional tags
All data is stored locally using your device’s internal database (SQLite).
We have no access to your personal content.
3. Why Internet Permission Is Used
Dream Journal uses internet permission only for one purpose:
📖 To open and display the Privacy Policy web page when you tap “Privacy Policy” inside the Settings section.
No other online communication, tracking, upload, or sync happens.
The app does not use the internet for:
Data transfer
Ads
Analytics
Background connections
Outside of the Privacy Policy link, the app runs 100% offline.
4. How Your Data Is Used
Your dream entries are stored locally and are used only for:
Displaying saved dreams in your journal
Generating total dream statistics
Allowing you to manually export your data
We do not transmit or analyze any of your entries outside the app.
5. Data Storage and Security
All data is stored securely on your phone’s internal memory.
We do not upload, backup, or access it remotely.
You can:
Edit or delete any dream anytime
Clear all dreams from Settings → Clear All Dreams
Uninstall the app to permanently delete all data
We recommend keeping your device password-protected to ensure privacy.
6. Export Functionality
Dream Journal provides a manual Export Dreams feature:
Creates a
.txtfile in/Documents/DreamJournal/File includes your dream entries with title, mood, and date
Sharing this file is completely under your control (e.g. WhatsApp, Telegram, etc.)
The app does not share or upload the file automatically.
7. Permissions Used
To be fully transparent, here’s every permission the app requests:

There are no hidden permissions or background network access.
8. Advertisements and Analytics
Dream Journal is 100% ad-free and does not use any analytics tools.
We do not use:
Google Analytics
Firebase Analytics
Crashlytics
AdMob
There is no data tracking, profiling, or targeted advertising.
9. Children’s Privacy
Dream Journal is intended for users aged 13 and above.
We do not knowingly collect any data from children.
If a child has used the app, uninstalling it will remove all local data permanently.
10. Data Retention and Deletion
Your dreams remain stored locally until you choose to delete them.
Once deleted (individually or via “Clear All Dreams”), data cannot be recovered.
We do not keep any external backups.
11. Security Measures
Since all data remains on your device, your privacy is inherently protected.
The app does not transmit your data online.
However, we recommend:
Using device lock features
Exporting data carefully (only to trusted apps)
12. Policy Updates
This Privacy Policy may be updated if required by law or app changes.
We will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this document when modifications are made.
